# AuditKeyboard

## Who it is for

Internal auditors, SOX and controls testers, and GRC teams running AI agents in
AssureSwarm. The buyer is the person who signs off: the one who has to decide
whether an agent's proposed finding, control rewrite, risk rating change or
close-out actually goes into the record.

## What it is

AuditKeyboard is a small hardware keypad that sits on your desk and shows you
what your audit agents are waiting on. Its job is the moment agents are worst
at: stopping for a human.

Agents run in the background. When one drafts a change and needs sign-off, a key
on the pad lights up. You press it to approve. Nothing an agent proposes is
applied until someone presses a key.

## The backlight

The board's lighting says one thing, readable from across a room before you
have focused your eyes:

- **Dark: nothing pending.** No agent is waiting on you.
- **Backlit: something to review.** An agent drafted a change and stopped for a
  human. Walk over, open it, decide.

That is the whole vocabulary. The helper publishes only the pending-review
state to the AssureSwarm layer and writes nothing else, so the board never
lights for any other reason.

## The hardware

- Base unit: Work Louder Creator Micro 2 Pro, reflashed with agent firmware.
- Controls: a rotary encoder, a radial, thirteen keys (K1-K12 plus a 13th
  position, W), and a wide 2U cap covering K11+K12 for dictation.
- Lighting: per-key RGB plus underglow, with frosted caps on the six queue keys
  so the light reads through them.
- Connection: USB-C or Bluetooth.
- Sentinel keycodes F13-F24 are emitted to a local helper process, which lights
  the queue and drives dictation. That helper is READ-ONLY: its grant is exactly
  `openid profile read:suggestions read:data`, with no write scopes, so it
  cannot accept or reject anything. F19/F20 never reach it.
- Platform: Windows.

## The AssureSwarm layer

This is layer 2, the layer the product exists for, and the only one the site
details. Exact controls:

- **K1-K6 (slots 1-6)**: `F13`-`F18`. The six frosted keys *are* the AI
  suggestions waiting on you, backlit while one is pending. A slot key does
  NOT decide anything: it opens that suggestion at
  `/suggestions?auditkeyboardSlot=N`, which revalidates it is still pending and
  navigates to its own review URL.
- **K7 ACCEPT**: `F19`. Accepts the suggestion currently on screen.
- **K8 REJECT**: `F20`. Rejects it. K7 and K8 are owned entirely by the
  AssureSwarm browser tab, never by the helper process, and dispatch only to a
  visible, focused, pending review whose id matches the route. Repeats, stale
  identity, background tabs, mid-processing and ambiguity all fail closed.
- **K9 COPY / K10 PASTE**: `Ctrl+C` / `Ctrl+V`, straight to the focused app.
- **K11+K12, the 2U cap**: `F22`. Hold to talk, or double-tap to latch and tap
  once to stop. Dictation inserts text; it never submits.
- **W SEND**: `Enter`. The explicit submit.
- **Dial**: `Shift+Left` / `Shift+Right` to extend a selection, press for
  `Delete`.
- **Radial**: up = `F24` Universe, left = `Shift+F24` Executive, right =
  `Ctrl+F24` My Work. These open the configured origin even when the site is
  closed. Diagonals do nothing; the bottom sector is a fixed Close.
- **Touch strip**: firmware-resident, cycles L1 -> L2 -> L3 -> L4.

## Other layers

Layer 1 is native Codex: the pad hands the board straight to it and the helper
stays out of the way entirely. The pad also carries two utility layers for the
ordinary desk work, both documented key by key, in place on the pad, at
https://assureswarm.com/auditkeyboard/layers/:

- **Navigation**: windows, tabs and dashboards. Esc, Del, Win, Alt, Tab, F4,
  Ctrl, N, T, W, Space and Enter, laid out so Alt+Tab, Alt+F4, Alt+Space,
  Alt+Enter, Ctrl+T, Ctrl+W, Ctrl+F4, Ctrl+N, Ctrl+Tab, Ctrl+Esc, Win+Tab and
  even Ctrl+Alt+Del are adjacent-finger chords. The stick opens saved
  workspace dashboards, and the dial arrows left and right, so Alt plus the
  dial pages the browser back and forward.
- **Working**: clipboard and editing. Backspace, Del, Win, Tab, X, Z, Ctrl, A,
  C, V, Space, Print Screen and Enter, so Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+Z,
  Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Backspace, Ctrl+Del, Ctrl+Enter, Win+V, Win+X, Win+A and
  Win+PrtScr sit under two fingers. The stick is the arrow keys and the dial
  is volume.

On both, holding Ctrl+Win together starts dictation. Pressing the dial brings
the keymap back: on Navigation it opens https://assureswarm.com/auditkeyboard/layers/, on
Working it toggles the on-screen cheat sheet.

## Common questions

**Who is it for?** Internal auditors, SOX and controls testers, and GRC teams
whose AI agents draft work in AssureSwarm. The user is whoever signs off.

**Is there a record of what I accepted?** Yes. ACCEPT and REJECT are handled by
AssureSwarm in the browser exactly as if you had clicked them: the change is
applied under your account and recorded in the item's history, with who, what
and when. The pad's own helper process is read-only and cannot decide anything.

**Does it only work with AssureSwarm?** The AssureSwarm layer is the product
and the only one detailed here. See "Other layers" above.

**Can I buy one right now?** No, and not later either. It is not for sale at any
price. The pads are prizes at Auditober, a monthlong hackathon through October
2026; the winner of each of the four categories takes one home, and the winners
share $1,000,000 in AssureSwarm subscriptions. Rules and how to enter are not
announced yet. Signing up for the hackathon costs nothing and takes no payment
details.

**What is Auditober?** Auditober is the audit hackathon
that runs for the whole of October 2026, for building agent-native audit
solutions across every phase of the audit: planning, risk assessment,
walkthroughs, testing and fieldwork, findings and reporting. Enter on your own
or as a team: every entrant or team gets a free sandboxed AssureSwarm instance
loaded with mock data. **No private data is shared**: nothing from a
participant's own systems, workpapers or audit record is uploaded. Auditober
has its own page here: everything about the hackathon, including the four

**Why participate?** Auditober is set to be the largest skill-sharing event

Each category winner takes an AuditKeyboard home and receives one QAIP readiness review provided by Cherry Hill Advisory (https://www.cherryhilladvisory.com/). The four categories are listed

**Where do I build my entry?** In a free sandboxed AssureSwarm instance loaded
with mock data, provided to every entrant or team. No integration, no
procurement, no private data.

**Is there support during October?** Yes: a kickoff session, weekly office
hours, and a CPE training session on Audit Engineering on October 8. The details come with the rules.

**How do I sign up for the hackathon?** Enter your work email in the form on
https://assureswarm.com/auditkeyboard/ (or on https://assureswarm.com/auditober/, the same list) and
press "Sign me up". We will email the rules and entry instructions in late September. A work address is required: submissions from personal
mailbox providers (gmail.com, outlook.com, yahoo.com, icloud.com, proton.me and
the like) and from temporary-mailbox services are refused. If the form will not
accept your address, email support@assureswarm.com instead. Nothing else is
collected and no payment details are ever asked for.
